Reporting to the Vice President, Information Technology & Enterprise Applications, the Business Analyst is responsible in delivering improvements to both processes and systems across the business. The Business Analyst will work with the appropriate stakeholders to understand the business requirements of the requested improvements, and will work with the Enterprise Applications, Process Councils and Areas of Expertise to deliver these improvements. Additionally, the Business Analyst will Project Manage the improvement initiates and facilitate change management on these improvements.
As a Business Analyst at Graham you will:
  • Work with the Project Management Office to ensure the overall governance model is followed from project initiative through until closeout
  • Responsible to elicit and identify business requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process mapping and use cases
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
  • Be the liaison between the business and Enterprise Applications team for developing robust, efficient and scalable solutions to business requirements
  • Provide knowledge and insight on the functionality of the existing related process and tools
  • Work with the Enterprise Applications team to propose scalable technical solutions that meet the future demands of Graham’s most complex businesses while remaining efficient for all areas of the business
  • Determine appropriate initiative scope by consolidating or dividing business requirements into logical packages to provide continuous improvements
  • Develop requirements and specifications according to standard templates
  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Facilitate and interface with other Business Analysts on requirements that overlap with the needs of other groups
  • Prioritize improvements with Process Councils based on business criteria
  • Project Manage improvement initiatives
  • Apply change management techniques to initiatives in order to ensure success
  • Build and execute test scripts that ensure any software developed performs as designed without any adverse effects
  • Validate not only new functionalities, but also associated documentation/training resources
  • Train and support Super-Users
  • Identification of leading practices and assessment of application of same at Graham
  • Implementation support for expertise teams, including training and change requirements or enhancements identified as the system or process is put into use
To be Successful at Graham, you will have the following qualifications and experience:
  • Relevant post-secondary degree or diploma
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a related role in an operational setting
  • Strong Project Management and Change Management skills
  • Good understanding of functional areas in a business, preferably in the Construction industry
  • Advanced analytical and process mapping skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts
  • ERP experience, preferably SAP
  • Understanding of technical configuration and development processes and associated resources including the capability to provide a bridging function between managerial and technical people throughout the planning, development, and implementation phases of our improvement processes
