As a member of our Infrastructure group, you will provide insight and innovative construction solutions to ensure the successful execution of various infrastructure projects, such as: roadways, highways and interchanges; bridges and overpasses; water and wastewater treatment facilities; transmission lines; general/public transportation including airports, seaports and light rail transit lines (LRTs); and conventional and alternative power generation like wind farms and district energy facilities. You will also further hone your skills operating under various delivery methods including Design-Build, P3 (Public-Private Partnership), Construction Management and IPD (Integrated Project Delivery).
 
As a Buyer at Graham you will:
 
  • Evaluate and negotiate supplier pricing, production capability, quality, performance, and delivery to meet established service level requirements
  • Purchase supplies, equipment and inventory resources in the most efficient and cost effective manner
  • Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with suppliers as well as internal and external clients
  • Lead and participate in procurement initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Issue Purchase Orders and expedite Purchase Orders as required and report changes in delivery schedules
  • Monitor and ensure the data integrity of vendor information relating to procurement
  • Process/maintain organized paperwork and records
  • Report supplier issues and trends to the Purchasing Manager
         
 To be Successful at Graham, you will have the following qualifications and experience:
 
  • Post-Secondary education in Engineering and/or Supply Chain is preferred
  • Experience in Construction is essential
  • Commercial knowledge is mandatory with a preference for prior work experience in Civil or Mechanical or Electrical construction
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of procurement experience is required
  • Proficient ERP System experience with SAP preferred
  • An SCMP designation is an asset
  • Ability to work comfortably in a team environment, multi-task, and support concurrent requirements for different internal and external customers
  • Excellent time management skills with an attention to detail
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Proficient computer experience in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications
